II. Summary

SCR,

Good evening.  Hopefully everyone is gearing up for the San Antonio Featured Game coming up in a few weeks, as they are putting a great deal of effort into this to showcase their Domain.  That group has a full time decorations crew, been holding multiple preparation meetings to develop the event and has created a rich starting setting for the Venues we will be playing, so it should be quite the experience.  That accompanied with a full on Mexican dinner available to those in attendance just displays how much thought and hard work they are putting in to host the Region.  I am really looking forward to it and hope to see you there.

As for future Featured Games of the Month we have several bids for upcoming months, and among them potentially a long awaited return to Oklahoma.  Travel is key to developing the greater community which makes our organization truly worth being a member of.

On another note I would like to thank those who attended the SCR pizza party at Atlanta by Night.  Even long after the pizza ran out, our crew was so amazing that we attracted many others from outside the Region who wanted to be a part of our social.  So much so that armed hotel security broke up our very tame party, but all in all it was great to get together as a Region.  I look forward to getting forced to relocate with you guys again soon.

And as you may have read the National Coordinators election is beginning.  I will be discussing the candidates with your Domain Coordinators next Sunday, who can then bring the information back to your Domains to discuss.  Our representative vote will placed by myself, but will reflect all of our Region in its support.

Just some of the things on the horizon.

– Regional Website Refresh (anyone happen to work for 1 & 1 Internet here?)

– October Domain Coordinators Conference Call

– October Regional Meeting

– November San Antonio Featured Game of the Month

Also to be sure to keep up with everything going on and for even more inside information about the activities of our staff and Region please sign up for with one of the following social media feeds of if you do not use any of these programs, one will be streamed to the website shortly after it goes live.

Continue to be awesome to one another, and remember to have fun!  We will see you soon at a Featured game near you.

Summary:

During the past month, the ARC Project Management has scheduled and attended three meetings with the Internal Revenue Service agents to compile possible methods for achieving non-profit status while not going through incorporation.  Methods were suggested by those agents and the ARC Project Management is beginning to explore those options.  Project parameters were collected and all-call email is drafted for Regional Projects.

Questions & Answers:

The recent need for each Domain and Region to self-identify as a nonprofit has become a concern recently.  With such a need, after discussing with three IRS agents, EIN Numbers seem to be the best option.  Do the Board and MES National see this as a viable option?  If not, what would they suggest?

Rebecca Morgan, US2006037575

SUMMARY

September saw no featured game, rather did include some discussion with domains in regard to potential future features. On the agenda, we have the November featured game planned for November 2nd ,3rd and 4th in San Antonio, TX. There have been inquiries from Ruston, LA as well as Fort Worth, TX and Oklahoma City, OK. All of these possibilities are being looked into currently. I am super excited to get inquiries from domains that we haven’t seen features from, or haven’t seen one from in a while and hope to have the opportunity to work with them soon.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q: What can you offer in the way of assistance for featured games?

A: As far as support, I can offer advertisement assistance, support from the RC and RST in way of regional meetings and possibly even IC regional plot-hooks and the like. There are also domains that are willing to loan some props, and I would help with coordinating that as well. The only big thing I can’t offer is money, as the region does not currently have a regional fund with the way the organization is working right now. Another perk is that the prestige for features is 50/50 regional and general instead of just general and it’s its own category, so that’s a 50 Prestige cap category that isn’t otherwise included in your awards. I report the prestige for features personally. All you do is supply me a detailed list of who did what and I report it for you. It’s included in the next regional report after you turn in the list. I’m here if you have any questions. My cell # is 210-882-6211. I can answer texts more often than calls, but if you need to call, and I can’t answer, leave a message and I’ll call you back. You can also find me on Facebook at : https://www.facebook.com/rebecca.morgan.35 or email me here at sc.arc.services@gmail.com .

(From the ARC Project Management)

The recent need for each Domain and Region to self-identify as a nonprofit has become a concern recently.  With such a need, after discussing with three IRS agents, EIN Numbers seem to be the best option.  Do the Board and MES National see this as a viable option?  If not, what would they suggest?
