II. Summary
**********************************************************************
Hello there,
I’d like to take a moment and talk about how awesome recruiting is.
Everyone like a nice big game, but how do you get those big games. New
members that’s how. Back in the day when I was in the SW my local
domain player base was down to just five players. We still ran our
games but it had more of a table top feel rather than a good larp. You
just can’t do all that much with five players. But then we got a new
guy, Steve. He’d heard the old horror stories from people who weren’t
in our club anymore, but he came anyway to check things out. I’m happy
to report that things were not as he was lead to believe. Steve kept
coming back and then he did something really odd. He told his friends
about all the fun he was having and then our game went from 5-6 to
15-20 person games. Now we were rocking, all the fresh members and the
increased game attendance even got some of our old friends to come
back to game. It was a nice domino effect. My favorite part was the
almost successful praxis attempt our new players pull game night one,
which really when things panned out actually worked as we had a new
Prince in just a few months after that.
Now I’m in the SC Houston, TX domain. Normally we had ok game
attendance, but it was only at the level we all liked when we had
people from other domains show up. And then someone had this strange
idea, let’s go do a local Gaming/Anime Convention and do a one shot
recruitment game. That’s when Lee Wilson said..”You guys know I run
one of those Conventions every year right?” With that we ran
Masquerade and Requiem. Afterwards we got a few new faces at our local
games, some just checked it out once or twice a some have stayed and
have helped make our game more awesome than before. So we were like
well, that worked, let’s do it again. And we did and we got even more
members. We went from just holding on with enough of a player base to
now we have enough people that there are hints of playing other Venues
aside from Vampire. Which again is awesome.
So to help encourage this. In the SCR from June 2011-August 2011. My
office will award Regional Prestige for every new recruit, mentoring a
new member (less than six months in) and for every recruitment game
you all run at your local Conventions. Which means 10R for every new
recruit each of you gets to become full members. Up to 20R for
mentoring a new member per month and 5R per hour you work at a
Recruitment game(Events category). I am open to awarding exceptional
prestige for those of you who go above and beyond.
To make awarding this easier for you and me. Please use the excel file
I sent out last month for tracking everyone’s work for this. Your DC
or CC if you aren’t a Domain, should forward me this excel log and
then I can get the prestige awarded. And of course if you have
questions just ask.

III. Questions & Answers
******************************************************************************************************
Questions for National:
What is the official policy/procedure for trial members since we
cannot access the free trial link on the WW website?
Answers from Regional:
ARC Outreach: Nicki Boyles, sc.arc.outreach at gmail.com
Question: Can I have a baby unicorn? PLEASE?
Answer: Sure… as long as the horn is rainbow.
Question: Any word on this [removed by ARC Admin for length] from
last month’s report?
Answer: You will need to talk to Trisha directly about these
requests. I know she’s in the middle of rebuilding the website and
now would likely be the an easy time for her to add that stuff in.
AR-008-D Jonesboro, AR Domain Coordinator: Tommy Russel, dcjonesboro at yahoo.com
Questions: I have a returning member who has attempted to renew his
membership. The White Wolf store says his number is invalid. The
number is correct as per the CRD. Should he get a new number and just
note on his prestige log that he has two numbers? Or is there another
solution?
Answer: You’ll need to file a BUG report in the CRD
AR-012-D Little Rock, AR Domain Coordinator: Krista Guthrie,
dc.ar012d at gmail.com
Questions: We’d like to open a Checking Acct under the club’s NPO
Status, but I know this needs a Tax ID #. What are the specifics
needed for this please?
Answer: We don’t have an TAX ID# yet to the best of my knowledge, I’m
sure once everything gets settled up the new BOD will let us know
what’s what.
Suggestions: Wine + Report writing is the bestest thing eva…as long as
I also have a sober assistant.
Answer: Not it!
LA-006-D Baton Rouge, LA Domain Coordinator: Alexander Mckey,
batonrouge.dc at gmail.com
Questions: Can we have some Election love please?
Answer: Election under way!
Comments: I was disappointed by the Rapture…
Answer: Weren’t we all.
LA-008-D Lake Charles, LA Domain Coordinator: Matthew Mevis,
contrabanddc at gmail.com
Problems: We need myself and Kyle hired on as venue officers on the
domain page of the CRD
Answer: You have been fixed. The ST chain has to fix Kyle…. The
coord chain doesn’t have access to ST stuff.
