II. Summary

Greetings to the Region of Luv!  I have recently returned from an invigorating FGotM held by the Dallas Domain.  Ill tempered weather couldn’t even hold down the RP abilities and spirit of the members of the SC Region.  It was fantastic to see so many people there and I look forward to seeing growing numbers of people at our events.  While not everyone can attend a Featured Game, please remember that I have monthly Office Hours on the second Tuesday of each month on IRC, #SC-Region.  I also have a monthly meeting with my ARC and DC staff combined.  Please use those opportunities to meet with me or contact me privately by email.  I look forward to those emails.  Please make sure that you have made every effort to resolve them before coming to me.  I don’t want you to waste any of your precious time by coming to me if my answer will only be, “Have you spoken with your DC?” or something akin to that.

Please remember to continue to report your prestige to your Domain Coordinators.  They are super people, but not superhuman; well not all of the time.  They cannot remember every single and wonderful thing you do for prestige.  Aid them by being a responsible member and reporting that prestige to them.  Administrative changes are occurring throughout the Region and please talk with your Domain Coordinator to become more educated on those.

On a final note, we are starting another two months of fantastic service to our Community.  Check out SC-Region, the email list, for further information.  I look forward to praising the impact that I know we will make across the entire Region.  We are definitely the Region of Luv and I have no doubt we will share the love with those in need.  Continue on the fantastic path that you are on and I look forward to further great moments in the SC Region.  Please keep in contact with my staff; remember to CC myself and Jess Fazio on ALL traffic directed to ANY Regional staff member.  It helps us help you by having multiple people tracking it.  With much love to the Region and a…

SC ARC Chief of Staff Report – August 2009SUMMARY – compiled domain border and healthy DC/domain checklist and sent it to RC- compiled information on doing regional t-shirts through different sources and sent info to RC- fielded questions sent to regional staff where possible- set permanent schedule for RC/DC meetings (1st Tues of each month) and RC office hours (2nd Tues of each month)- Welcomed new DCs: Melissa Johnson to Austin, Cody Smith to Ruston, Leslea Cross to Shreveport QUESTION & ANSWERS Prestige Log Rebuilds – It is not Regional’s job to rebuild a log for a member.  Nor is it the DC’s job to do so either.  It is the member’s job.  The DC and regional are there to help make sure the member has the info they need and double check the log when it’s done.  As such, DCs have access to the sc-reports lists.  Since this list has the unedited reports, general members cannot have access to it.  However, the DC can copy the person’s prestige reports from the chapter/domain reports OR copy the whole chapter/domain report and remove disciplinary actions/confidential info, and make a word doc of all the reports that the member needs (have them give you a month and year to start and end in).  Then send that doc to the member to rebuild their log.  Logs that require information from 2002 and before (since the archive on the sc-reports list doesn’t go back that far), contact regional and we will provide you with the reports to provide to your member. PROJECTS – guidance on the Prestige Guide- maintaining sc-coord, sc-rcoord, and sc-reports- schedule meetings for RC PRESTIGE AWARDS– none this month NOTES– school started this month for a log of people… so things are dragging a bit… keep things moving forward.– remember to CC Jer (cam.scrc@gmail.com) and Jess (sc.arc.cos@gmail.com) on all communications with regional staff…. CC Jess on all communications with Jer.End Report.

SUMMARY

Hey everyone,

This month has been interesting and challenging, to say the least. The office is on track with many parts of our agendas. With school starting back up again for everyone (and ICC looming in the horizon) things are going to be a little tight in the office. I hope to have this alleviated soon with the hiring of an AARC: Prestige and AARC: Project Administrator. Both are equally important and will help to keep things running smoothly so, if you have ever wanted to work at the Regional office, would like to stretch your horizons a bit, and maybe even earn some handy prestige along the way, please send in your applications by 11:59:59PM on September 18th.

I will be putting out a notice soon calling for sheets to be sent in for Regional audits for those needing MC signoff at Regional or higher before ICC, so please stay tuned.

Now, a few reminders:

·        Members – If you believe you should have been awarded Regional level prestige at some point between March and July, and it is not in this report – compile a list and send it to your DC. Your DC is responsible for reporting these items to Regional. Also, if you have submitted your logs through your DC for an audit, review or rebuild, and have not heard from me or my staff as of yet, please have your DCs send me a reminder and I’ll add it to my list of pending items to be taken care of.

·        DCs – Please compile your members’ reports and send in a single document listing the information. This will help us track better instead of wading through an inordinate amount of e-mails. Please also ensure you are sending your info to the correct department. Regional office supplies, donations, audits, etc come to Prestige. Charities, Featured Game prestige, & Regional Meetings go to the ARC Services for processing.

·        DCs – if you are missing personal prestige, please ensure that you send in your information to the appropriate AARC Prestige (depending on geographic location) and Cc myself, Jeremy and Jess for tracking.

SUMMARY

Hey everyone,

This month has been interesting and challenging, to say the least. The office is on track with many parts of our agendas. However, what I did not expect was my computer declaring anarchy against me. Needless to say, I lost a few things and had to rebuild my records from scratch. My apologies for things being late, but everything should move smoothly from this point (barring catastrophic meltdown…)

There have been a few changes in the Prestige staff over the past month, mainly additions. Please welcome aboard Matt and Susan Rockhold, who have been tapped to work on the Prestige Guide that will benefit the Regional in times to come. Additionally, I am working on hiring an AARC: Project Admin to make sure that these projects stay on track and done wells, so look out for on update on that position as well. In the last month, with new additions to the office, we have also had a bit of loss. I wish to thank Robin Wilson greatly for her work and service to this office and the Region at large and look forward to great things from her in the future. With that in mind, I find myself at a loss of one AARC: Prestige. The All-Call for this position will be posted by the end of the week.

Now, a few reminders:

IV. Projects

******************************************************************************************************

Regional Prestige Search Database:

The Regional Prestige Search Engine is well underway and I am looking forward to having it completed.  It well serve a well-deserved purpose and will pair well with other enchancements.

Prestige Approvals Database:

We have an excellent team working on this coding project and I am looking forward to doing some of the test trials so we can work to streamline the prestige process and eventually make it a much smoother process to submit, approve and audit prestige.

Prestige Guide:

Look for work to begin and complete shortly on the Prestige Guide.  This is a necessary resource to help educate our membership on the “pay” of the Camarilla.

FGotM:

We have recently had the FGoTM for September and it was highly successful.  I look forward to further FGotMs.  Please look at the bid guidelines that have been distributed by the ARC Services, Melissa D. Johnson.

Community Service Project:

September and October represent a “Back to School” mentality and the ARC Services in conjunction with the other RC Staff members has decided to launch a Book Drive.  Please reference the email sent out across us-sc-region for further information.  Please notice that the SC-Region Email List is the primary method of communication with the Region as a whole.

Recruitment, Retaining, and Mentoring Member Drive:

Community building is a necessary function of helping to build a strong Region.  The stronger our local domains; the stronger our Region will grow.  While recruiting a member is a definite positive; we want to include them in our communities and make them feel welcome.
