II. Summary

**********************************************************************

I’d like to welcome Bekkah Hackett (formerly Anderson), officially as our ARC Prestige and W. Texas Admin, now that her transfer to the Region is complete

The staff has wrapped up several elections, with a few in currently ongoing. If you are in need of a DC election please let the ARC Admin of your area know.

I’d like to hear back from more people on “If I was RC…..” The goal is so I know what concerns members of the region have, what you’d like to see changed, and what causes you’d like me to push forward. I encourage DCs to concentrate on getting feedback locally, throughout this month.

To help keep tabs on current events, I ask that anyone contacting the Regional Coordinator Staff, CC me on the email.   This helps to ensure that action items are being handled by the appropriate staff member, and helps me know what’s going on across the Region.

If you have any Questions, Problems, or Concerns that have not been addressed by Regional yet, please contact us! When an issue does arise, please contact us right away, and make sure it’s included in your local report later, if we haven’t resolved it by then.

-Harley Cox

SUMMARY

Admin: – Tulsa DC election completed.- Spoke to Enid DC (Laura Shreve) about Enid DC election.  She is still trying to get the domain members signed up to the e-mail list.  As soon as that is done, she will e-mail me to start the election.

 Education/Outreach:

Welcomed David Lanning as the new DC of Tulsa.- Edited the DC Packet and the Domain Report “how to” – Looked over the “new member” packet.  Have come to the conclusion that I will need Erica’s help to edit it, will be contacting her in a week or two when her life has calmed down.

– Wrote blurb for Sanctuary at Lee’s request.

– After Trisha created version 1 of our website (which is FABULOUS), I got the DC Packet, Domain Report Template, and Recruiting Ideas documents up on it.

QUESTION & ANSWERS

Admin:– Melissa (aka Lizard) from Tulsa asked for some help/resources to rebuild logs for old Cam members who may come back.  I got her in contact with the wonderful Bekkah Hackett.  I’m available for further assistance if needed.

 Education/Outreach:– none at the moment

PROJECTS

Admin:– Start Enid DC election- Visiting other Oklahoma domains and other domains in the region

– Assist transition of new Tulsa DC as needed.  Education/Outreach:– Edit the New Member packet- Create more fun “quick reference” guides for the SC Region (officers, new members and general members) to use.

UPCOMING EVENTS

– no events.

PRESTIGE AWARDS

– Tulsa Election Proctors:

Frank Howerton, US2002034951, hoefish@hotmail.com – 5 R

Ramon Carrasco, US2005022990, alucardcrane@gmail.com – removed as proctor

NOTES

– I’m focusing on making materials available for new DCs and members.  – I’m also trying to go to more FGotMs and other “local” events. It’s been a while since I’ve been in the public eye as far as the region is concerned… I want to get my face and name out there so that people know who I am and feel comfortable coming to me for help.  I think “being known” is step one for the “open door” policy… so that’s what I am working on.

SUMMARY

This month has been all about getting MC Cards out! The SC Region is Awesome for providing literally EVERYTHING we need to get this project done. Because of the amount of supplies received, we were able to send cards to all members of the region. If there were errors (because I am guessing I misspelled a name or mistyped a cam number at least once in the 350+ cards), please drop me an email so we can get a corrected card to you. Also, if there are MC advancements, it would really help me if the DC either puts it in a separate email for me or puts a section in their CC/DC report under “MC Advancements”. If you have not received your card (and you are MC 11 or under), please contact your DC. I know that the mail ate the Kileen cards (the note arrived, but no MC Cards); NOLA’s cards will be mailed as soon as I can unpack the laminator (should be in the next week or so after I move); Tulsa, I am waiting on an updated report. If you are not in one of the above domains and your DC does not have a card for you, please drop me an email.

If you (or your domain) are having any prestige issues, let me know. I worked with several members who were stripped prestige on regional and national audits due to insufficient information. I helped them to add the information back in after their lock so that it will pass for their next lock/audit. I have been working with New Orleans to get their prestige records caught up and am glad to do the same for you.

I try to be available to all W. Texas members, so if you need anything feel free to drop me an email or catch me on gchat. The best Gchat addy to get me is Bekkah.hackett@gmail.com. This is my new married name email address, so please update it in your records!

PROJECTS

-Pending Rebuilds (as of 7/10/08):

-Lacey (Fellers) Cannon (Pending 1999 – 2001 reports from Lana Quenneville, ANC Chapters)

-Rebecca (Simpson) Morgan (Draft One has been sent to Member, but due to the age of some of the prestige, this has been Passed up to National for their assistance)

-Will Laymance (Received Request 7/5/08)

-Pending Audits/Logs (as of 7/10/08):

-Cory Gray (Waiting on National to verify some old awards and MC grant)

-Angela Townley (sent back to DC for re-working)

-Lakesha Hammond (Pending National Verification of Awards)

-Kevin Jones (sent back to DC for Reworking)

-Shawn Kneupper (Received Request 7/10/08) – Transfer Audit/Lock

-Finish archiving all RC reports – October 2006 and all of 2007 finishing touches so it can be sent to National

UPCOMING EVENTS

– Would like to get the prestige logs for all members who have not been locked at National who joined in 2002 or earlier. This will allow us to have as many of our members locked as possible and stop future issues where prestige can not be located for verification purposes.

– Sending out MC Cards for all SC members; Round one has been done, but I am sure there was errors, so I need to send out any corrections and keep up on the new MC levels. Also, one Domain’s envelope with MC Cards ripped during shipping and waiting on a domain report from Tulsa to finish this project.

CHARITIES

SUMMARY

Admin:

There are only a few items to report here.  Thanks go out to BekkahHackett for collating the prestige and report info for LA-005-D.The all call has gone out for applications for DC, DST, andVST-Requiem in LA-005-D, New Orleans. An All-Call will also need to go out for LA-003-D as the current DC’sterm will end in September.Sadly, LA-001-C, was not able to garner enough interest for anyone torun for the office of CC.  This is resulting in the Chapter’s membersbeing absorbed into the Domain of Shreveport.  I will e-mail the USANC-Chapters to see how and when to best complete this.

Charities:

June has been a busy month completing the projects initiated lastreporting cycle.  A major block of backdated reporting and finishingtouches on Charity items have been concluded.  The South CentralSummer Charity was rolled out July 1.  The Charity will focus onseeing to the Back to School needs of underprivileged children.  Inaddition to this roll out, plans are being drafted to have the nextCharity seamlessly dropped into place at the conclusion of thiscampaign.

Events:

June brought us the FGotM in Beaumont.  It was an excellent game.  Itseemed to be a Great time had by all.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Charities:

There were several individual concerns and items that requiredresearch and resulted in backdated prestige awards.  However, therewere no general questions at this time.

Events:

Nothing at this time.

PROJECTS

Charities:

By the end of the current reporting cycle I would like to have the next Charity campaign draft ready to be signed off on by the RC. “Home is Where the Heart Is”.  This is a theme that I would like to see implemented in the Domains that are wanting to pursue Charity drives.  The idea behind this is the Domains actively consider what Charity means to them.  Instead of trying to save the world, start at home.  Are there Cammie members that need help with the basic needs? Are there pet projects among the members that can have the attention refocused?Over the summer, with September 10th as a goal, I would like to challenge the Region to review the Charity prestige on their Prestige logs and verify the items on the US NC site.  I would like to see any items uncorroborated be turned in with as much information as possible (dates, nature of award and awarding officer) to me for research to make certain that we do all that we can in aiding to the ease of prestige reviews and minimize loss of prestige due to non-reported or incorrectly reported items.

NEW CHARITY1)Changing the Present offers a website for online donations.  The website is Changing the Present – Back to School(http://www.changingthepresent.org/gift/18661/back_to_school) At this site, your donation of 5.00 provides a child with a basic back to school kit.  The items will differ based on the age of the child. For every 5.00 Back to school kit donation, you will receive 5R prestige.  This is a secure site and an excellent way to make a difference if your time is limited.  You will be provided with anemail confirmation of donation.  Please email this to me, Jessica Earl at ARC.Services@gmail.com as well as your Domain Coordinator.  This will ensure proper documentation of your donation. Remember 5.00 = 1 Back to School Kit = 5R2)Donation of items locally.    I am providing a specific list of school supplies and the prestige award for each item.  For the sake of continuity, this will be the master list of item values.  *Domain Coordinators* Please include the list of items in your reports with the prestige recommendation for timely awards. Guidelines (Items must be new, unused)1R items Spiral notebooks not listed elsewhere Box/bag of #2 Pencils (12-24 Count) Box/bag of Pens (blue, black or red) (12 Count) All non-spiral notebooks Construction paper All folders with or without fasteners Box of Staples Elmer’s or School Glue 2pk glue sticks 8ct or larger Colored Pencils Ruler “12” Inches no foldables 8-24ct Crayons 100 ct or larger loose leaf lined paper Pkg of Pencil top erasers3R items 3 ring binders Simple 4 function calculators 48 ct. or larger Box of Crayons 5″ School Scissors5″ Safety Scissors Large box of facial tissues Pack of Dry Erase Markers Plastic School Pencil Box or 3 ring zippered pencil bag 1″ binders with view front and inside pockets Ream of Paper (any type) Staplers 10 ct or larger colored markers ( non- permanent) Hand sanitizer no sample or trial sizes Disenfectant wipes/clothes ( example: Clorox), no  sample or trial sizes7R items Backpacks Lunch boxes Book bags/satchels3)Donation of your time.  There are few things more valuable than time.  This can be earned in several ways.  Gathering the items for your Domain, delivering them to the school of your Domain’s choice or volunteering at a local school or head start program in your area. This time will need to be verified with your Domain Coordinator. *Domain Coordinators* Please include what the time donation consisted of in your reports. Remember 1 hour of time donated to a Camarilla Charity Drive = 5R

Not a whole lot of questions this month. Most all of them were particular to that domain, and answered or addressed one-on-one.

Events:

Working to get Domains engaged with the notion of Domain socials. Also at this time we are looking forward to the decision of thelocation of SCaRE so planning can begin with that.

V. Upcoming Events

**********************************************************************

Featured Game of the Month Schedule

June FGotM – Beaumont, TX June 28th, 2008

July 12th, Houston, TXAugust 8-10, Odessa, TX

Prestige:

– Would like to get the prestige logs for all members who have not been locked at National who joined in 2002 or earlier. This will allow us to have as many of our members locked as possible and stop future issues where prestige can not be located for verification purposes.

– Sending out MC Cards for all SC members; Round one has been done, but I am sure there was errors, so I need to send out any corrections and keep up on the new MC levels. Also, one Domain’s envelope with MC Cards ripped during shipping and waiting on a domain report from Tulsa to finish this project.
