II. Summary

**********************************************************************

Well, this month we’ve seen the emergence of a new Independent Chapter, out of Shawnee Oklahoma, OK-016-I. Also a new sub-chapter is in the works for the Dallas Domain.

The staff has wrapped up several elections. If you are in need of a DC election please let the ARC Admin of your area know.

I am in the process of getting feedback on some policies that will affect Domain transfers, election processes, and awarding officer prestige.

The ARCs are now tackling their jobs full speed, and I’m sure the flurry of activity hasn’t gone unnoticed. So, next time your talking with an officer, at any level of the organization, that is doing a good job, take a second to give them some kudos and a pat on the back.

To help keep tabs on current events, I ask that anyone contacting the Regional Coordinator Staff, CC me on the email.   This helps to ensure that action items are being handled by the appropriate staff member, and helps me know what’s going on across the Region.

If you have any Questions, Problems, or Concerns that have not been addressed by Regional, please contact the Regional Staff. If an issue should arise, please contact us right away, and make sure it’s included in your local report later, if we haven’t resolved it by then.

-Harley Cox

SUMMARY

Admin:

– Working on getting some DC elections up and running.  I have Tulsa underway and am waiting to for the Enid members to be put on their e-mail list so that I can get their DC election underway.

– Welcomed some new DCs: Huntsville – Chad Welch, Beaumont – Shelley Welch, Baton Rouge – Sam Marston, Dallas – Diana Brokl, and OKC – Me (Jessica Fazio)

– Welcomed a new Chapter: Shawnee, OK, whose new DC is Russ Cohen.

– Visited Tulsa (which I do every month because it’s close and I have friends there)

– Visited Stillwater

– Assisted DST (Mark Brooks) with a delicate matter regarding player/character (IC & OOC) interactions at the Stillwater game.

Education/Outreach:

– Developed a “quick reference” DC packet for new DCs (and to use as a reminder to old DCs).  I have also created a template for the domain reports which also shows what information in the report needs to be changed each month and where to find the information to change it to.  This has been sent to new DCs as well.

– I have acquired the “new member” packet that Erica Martinez created when she was ARC… and will be checking to make sure it’s still accurate information.  After fine tuning it, the packet will be available to new members of the region.

– I spoke with Trisha (our ARC Web) and have some ideas for a page off the regional website that would be super helpful.  As soon as she gets settled and working on the regional website, we’ll be talking about it again.

QUESTION & ANSWERS

Admin:

– none at the moment

Education/Outreach:

– none at the moment

PROJECTS

Admin:

– Tulsa DC election

– Starting Enid DC election

– Visiting other Oklahoma domains and other domains in the region

Education/Outreach:

Edit and add to DC packet as needed

– Edit the New Member packet

– Get the above materials on the regional website where the region can access them

– Develop guide/”how to” out of the suggestions I typically make for recruiting & get it up on the regional website as well

UPCOMING EVENTS

– no events.

PRESTIGE AWARDS

– DC election proctors will be awarded prestige AFTER election is concluded.

NOTES

– I’m focusing on making materials available for new DCs and members.

– I’m also trying to go to more FGotMs and other “local” events. It’s been a while since I’ve been in the public eye as far as the region is concerned… I want to get my face and name out there so that people know who I am and feel comfortable coming to me for help.  I think “being known” is step one for the “open door” policy… so that’s what I am working on.

SUMMARY

This month was trying to wrap up the old projects and diving in with the new ones. Trying to assist a handful of members with putting together old prestige logs… YAY! Rebuilds! I am also working with volunteers to get the regional reports up on the National Web Site. This project is going exceptionally well and things should start appearing on the national search site here shortly. (Update: January 2008-April 2008 are already up there!)

I also am “collecting” all of the members prestige logs who transfer within the SC. All too often when you move hard drives crash, a DC “never got your log”, or something similar; that usually results in this office doing a prestige rebuild. Prestige rebuilds are not my favorite part of the job and if I can avoid them, all the better. I figure if I get the records for all transfers when the log comes up a miss, it saves everyone a bit of a headache (and it shows the member really did send it!)

I am also trying to catch up with all of the DC’s in W. Texas. If you haven’t heard from me, please feel free to drop me an email at scr.prestige@gmail.com. Some of the domains are having issues coming together. Either it is gas prices making it tough to have games more than a couple of times a month, or people not getting along, or not being able to find a game site. If you have any of these issues or if you r domain has any issues, I will be glad to help you work them out. This invitation is open for all West Texas Cammies. Email me or catch me on g-chat (Bekkah.Anderson@gmail.com). I am all too ready to help you and your domain out.

PROJECTS

-Rebuilds for Lacey Cannon (was Fellers – Pending 1999 – 2001 reports from Lana Quenneville, ANC Chapters), William Broderick (Being worked on)

-Pending Logs (as of 6/10/08) – Cory Gray (Waiting on National to verify some old awards and MC grant);

-Finish archiving all RC reports

-Finish Outlook Database for ease on rebuilds

UPCOMING EVENTS

– Would like to get the prestige logs for all members who have not been locked at National who joined in January 2003 or earlier. This will allow us to have as many of our members locked as possible and stop future issues where prestige can not be located for verification purposes.

– Sending out MC Cards for all SC members with MC 9, 10, and 11. Also sending out MC Cards for all DC’s. To get accurate addresses for where to mail the cards, I am asking that all members who want one send an email (scr.prestige@gmail.com) with their Name, Cam Number, MC (and please include your MC Letter if you still have it), and your Mailing Address.

CHARITIES

SUMMARY

During the month of May, no new major Charities were kicked off for the SC Region. During the May FGotM there was a Regional Blood Drive for LifeShare Blood Centers. 18 units of blood were collected in 3 hours. The coordinator from LifeShare was extremely pleased with this. The thank you letters have been saved and filed. The Region has continued to participate in the SW Charities. I have been researching the best way to bring out the new charity for the SC. The original plan that I had was too vague and left too much to interpretation. I have taken direction from the ARC Prestige in finding a better way to narrowcast for a better Charity solution. I apologize that it has taken so long to get positioned for what needs to be done.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Chad Welch from TC-066-D provided documentation and clarification that I had asked for on last months reporting in regards to Joshua Davis on the 30R that was recommended. That 30R has been approved by Sara Hart, SW Region ARC Charities.

PROJECTS

Due to some issues brought to me about Prestige that was reported from the Domain level in past months but had not been found on the USNC site, I have started building a questionnaire to determine if others have had the same issue so that we may go back and clean-up the deficiencies before too much time elapses.

Complete the roll-out of the Summer Charity for SC. After discussion with the ARC Prestige, a Charity was found that will provide children and schools in need with school supplies. This particular charity can be done at the Regional level, but can spill over to each members home Domain. As requested by the RC, three ways to get involved will be available. 1. Donation online. (Website to be provided with charity roll-out). This online donation, like the SW Region’s online donations, correspond to an item. In this case a 5.00 donation is a back to school ‘kit’. The exact items vary depending on the age of the child. This will keep in line with 5R = 1 item (back to school kit) = 5.00. 2. Donation of items to a local school of the Domain or members choice. (Donations must be logged through the DC or appropriate ADC Charities) 3. The Donation of Time. This could be achieved by volunteering to collect the items from a Domain and making the delivery to the chosen school/ class. This also could be achieved through the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Programs. The dates of this program will run from release date through the end of August. That will give two solid months to make a difference in some children’s school year starting off right!

As children go back to school, it is critical to remember that their foundations is what makes them the adults we wish to see as the leaders of tomorrow.

While I have a charity program ready to roll out for summer. It is important to start thinking about the next project so that when the time comes there is not a lapse.

UPCOMING EVENTS

To be released by Tuesday 06.17.08 – Summer in the SC Regional Charity Opportunities

EVENTS

SUMMARY

FGotM was held in Shreveport. I had the pleasure of opening the event with Jess Fazio and Trish Dubois in a Regional Meeting. The FGotM for June was bid upon and earned by the Beaumont Domain who will be hosting that game

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Q. When will we be allowed to have a list of candidate Domain’s who completed bids for SCaRE?

PROJECTS

Working with Joy Smith, progress was made towards a ‘Camarilla Birthday Calendar’. The next step is updating and furtherance of the Game Calendar that is being utilized on the ST side of the aisle. Re-announced the FG Schedule through August and put out the date and updated bid requirements for future FGotM’s. May also saw the closing of the All Call for the bids for SCaRE.

UPCOMING EVENTS

June FGotM – Beaumont, TX June 28th, 2008

PRESTIGE AWARDS

The Dallas Domain has also recommended Regional backdate of Prestige for Event Services for the FG, and for Community Service for Donated items to the FG. As of yet no Prestige amts were given. I will send this back to the DC for clarification before submitting.

Admin – Louisiana
