SCARE 2009 Requiem Venue Style Sheet

The following document covers all policies that are specific to the Requiem Venue of the South Central Regional Event. Except as noted, these policies do not supersede the policies of either the printed material from White Wolf nor the Camarilla Addendums. It is the understanding that every individual who participates in the events related to this Venue has read and understood the policies presented in this document. By attending this event, each individual acknowledges that they understand and agree to the policies set forth here.

I. Theme and Setting.

A. The Theme of SCRE 2009 is the idea that every choice has a consequence. The decisions of both the past and the present affect the outcome of what will occur.

B. The Setting of SCRE 2009 is a large multi day gathering that takes place within a large Elysia style complex initially laid out by Enrique de la Fuentes (NPC under control of the RST).

1. Every character will have received an invitation; either directly, indirectly, or implied through other sources.

2. No character will be denied admission into this event based on personal or religious belief.

3. This gathering is overseen with the full support of the Local Domain.

II. History

A. New Orleans is, in some ways, the perfect representation of the Kindred legacy: to Survive. New Orleans has been severely damaged from Hurricane Katrina which occurred in 2005. Even to this day, not all of the area has ever been repaired. Perhaps it never will. But, what is certain is that the Kindred population of the area will survive and endure to see the continuing nights.

B. In the wake of these mortal events, the city has seen the Praxis change hands, with individuals coming out to claim power and opportunity that was lost in those fateful times. The Kindred society of the area has begun to stabilize under their newest Prince; and time will tell if this Praxis will endure.

III. Game Location and Times:

A. The SCRE Requiem event will take place at [Give Location Here]

B. The SCRE Requiem event will take place on the following dates and times.

1. Thursday (4/18): 8:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Ballroom C & D.

IV. Rules and Mechanics Section

A. Character Sheets and Approvals

1. All players must bring two copies of their character sheets to the game that contains all relevant information. One of these copies will be submitted during check in to be kept on file, and must contain the following information.

a) Camarilla membership number.

b) Player name.

c) Direct Story Teller name.

d) Email address.

e) Current character traits.

f) Experience Point Logs.

g) Approval Numbers.

2. Character sheets can be printed, typed, or neatly written in ink. Poorly written or sheets written in Pencil will not be accepted.

3. All players are expected to provide detailed listings of any information that is not listed in the World of Darkness or Requiem book. Any players not possessing detailed information on Approvals (including die pools, if any) that originate outside of those books will be unable to utilize said Approvals.

4. Any player wishing to utilize any Approval that allows interaction and/or control of Spirits or Ghosts must submit a minimum of two week advance notice to the SCRE Requiem lead, which must be confirmed prior to use, and is subject to review on each instance of said utilization.

5. Any player wishing to utilize any Approval that allows an Item to bypass or supersede any Vampiric power must submit a minimum of two week advance notice to the SCRE Requiem lead, which must be confirmed prior to use.

B. Blood and Willpower

1. All characters begin the event at Full Blood and Willpower when they first check into the event. This supersedes the normal starting rules for Blood and Willpower.

2. Each day after initial check in, characters expend Blood as normal to wake up (typically 1, with some exceptions), in addition to in game Blood expenditures.

3. Characters who do not require Kindred Vitae for feeding may request a feeding scene from the Story Teller staff.

4. Characters who require Kindred Vitae for feeding must report the Character Name, Player Name, and Camarilla number of an onsite character that they are feeding from, who must be present when the Blood is taken.

a) Any player with Malkavia on their character sheet must submit this information to the Story Teller staff if their character relinquishes Blood to another character.

5. Characters who have externalized sources of Blood (Reliquaries, etc.) can have no more Blood than their Willpower rating. This supersedes the normal rules.

a) Oath of the Bloody Hand is not subject to this limitation, but must be announced and tracked during the event.

6. Story Tellers reserve the right to check any character sheet to confirm that Blood and/or Willpower expenditures have taken place. Players who fail to properly maintain their expenditures correctly are subject to appropriate penalties or punishments.

C. Non Player Characters

1. Any player wishing to utilize a Merit based NPC on site (such as Retainer or Staff) must submit said NPC to the Lead Storyteller prior to use.

2. Any player submitting an NPC understands and agrees that the display and actions of that NPC are governed by the Story Telling staff and are not under the direct control of the player.

D. Cross Venue

1. All Cross Venue requests must be submitted to the SCRE Requiem lead a minimum of two weeks prior to the event; and must receive the corresponding approval.

2. For the purpose of this event, any Cross Venue requests will be considered to be “hard” role play (allowing the use of powers or other interactions between characters).

3. Any Cross Venue interaction is subject to the review of the Story Telling staff; and may be ended prematurely if the actions taken by players are deemed inconsistent with expected interactions.

E. Combat

1. The Story Telling staff reserves the right to take any collection of individuals who appear to be engaging in confrontational action to a Story Telling Offsite Resolution area. This ability will be utilized in cases where the actions of the characters are deemed harmful to the surrounding continuity.

2. Story Telling Offsite Resolution areas (or STORes) will be utilized in any case where Mediation does not occur. If a player believes that they will need a STORe prior to the event, they should notify the SCRE Requiem lead in advance so that the space will be available.

3. While inside a STORe, a character is considered to be removed from play until such time as the character is released by the Story Telling staff.

4. Inside a STORe, players are expected to be courteous to each other and the Story Telling staff.

5. In order to expedite the actions inside a STORe, and to minimize the amount of time players are removed from the game, Combat will be streamlined to a very specific set of rules. Players need to limit unnecessary communication, especially when Out Of Character.

a) Each player will determine their Initiative.

b) Players will line up to the Story Teller in order of their Initiative.

c) Players will describe their actions to the Story Teller, including the effect of the action (if successful), the target of the action, and the Die Pool number (announcing any Resistances or Contestation) of the action.

d) Players who can not quickly describe their actions will be subject to losing their character’s action for a given turn.

6. Once Combat is resolved, any player involved in a character death is subject to a character audit.

F. Proxy Rules

1. Due to the nature of this event, character proxies are not available.

a) This limitation does not apply to “temporary” proxy action (ie: “llama”) while a player needs to step away for a brief time in the middle of a scene.

G. Experience Points

1. Characters can receive a maximum of 5 Experience Points per night, which can be divided among any character that was portrayed by the player during that evening.

2. Over cap experience will be announced and awarded at the end of the event.

3. Players requesting Experience Points for a character death incurred during the event should submit a request to the Event Story Teller.

H. Appeals

1. Any appeals that occur from actions that take place at this event must be submitted to the Lead Story Teller no later than 30 days after the last day of the event.

2. Any appeals that occur from a ruling from the Lead Story Teller must be submitted the SCRE Requiem lead no later than 30 days after the last day of the event.

V. Story Teller Empowerment

A. It is the intention of every Story Teller involved in this event to deliver the most possible enjoyment possible to every individual who attends. As such, there will be no tolerance for players who are rude and disruptive.

B. Players who argue with a Story Teller during the event will have actions taken against them, including removal of a player’s character from their control, and possible Disciplinary Actions.

C. The Story Telling staff reserves the right to review, alter and/or disallow any action that would cause a Venue damaging effect (setting the building on fire, causing a mass Frenzy, sending the media to the building).
