Convention Rules of Conduct
- Badges – Must be displayed when in hotel public areas and SCARE event spaces. There is no refund if your badge is revoked. There is a fee for lost badges.
- Costumes – Costumes should meet the public decency laws. Please avoid lingering in public areas that are not set for gaming while in costume.
- Food – All outside food should be consumed in your private room or the hospitality suite. Do not bring any food into the meeting space. You will be asked to throw it away or leave the room.
- Footwear – Defined in this case as “with soles that protect feet from shards of glass or other impediments on the floor” must be on at all times in hotel public areas and SCARE event spaces.
- Guide Dog – A guide dog in training will be at the event. For those with severe allergies, please advise the convention staff immediately.
- Medical Aid – Although some members and even staff may have medical backgrounds, we will call the proper medical authorities to avoid any liability to the staff, the Camarilla, or White Wolf. This includes any medications. We will not provide even over-the-counter medications.
- Photos/Video – If you choose to opt out of the photos and video that will go online, you will be provided a ribbon to go on your badge so photographers will know you don’t want your photo taken. Please be aware that the photographers will be wearing gray vests. Please assist them in keeping you out of pictures by moving out of their frame if possible.
- Property Damage – Anyone found damaging any SCARE property, hotel property, or personal property will have their badge revoked and be removed from the convention by Security.
- Quiet hours – Event quiet hours are from 3 am to 8 am. The hotel’s guest room quiet hours are from 12 midnight to 8am. Be considerate of other hotel guests and SCARE Attendees.
- Room Parties – Underage drinking is against the law. Be responsible. Excessive noise will not be tolerated. The SCARE Security Staff will be empowered to close down parties that are not conducted in a sensible manner. Refusal to listen to Security can result in the members involved losing their badges. Parties will be given one warning and then shut down. Remember, we do share the hotel with other paying customers.
- Smoking – Limited to the areas designated by our host hotel.
- Swimming Pool Policy – Attendees are asked to adhere to the posted hours and attire for pool use.
- Weapons – No weapons are allowed in the gaming space.
- Non-SCARE attendees and Hotel Guests – If someone who is a guest of the hotel and not a member of the SCARE convention (if they are attending the convention they should be wearing a badge) starts to create a problem, within the SCARE convention space, please contact a SCARE Staff member or a SCARE Security member immediately. Do not attempt to resolve the situation yourself.
Warning – Physical violence and any actions that violate the Camarilla Code of Conduct or Camarilla club policies will not be tolerated. Attendees will have their badge revoked and be subject to immediate disciplinary and/or legal action, as appropriate.
